Bid to eliminate black market

KUWAIT CITY, March 21: The Director of the Animal Production Department at the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources Mishaal Al-Quraifa revealed that the strategic stock of eggs, broiler chicken and dairy products and their derivatives are sufficient for more than a year and there are no fears of its shortage, indicating that feed support is being provided to livestock breeders in general, so that every day, reports Al-Anba daily.

Al-Quraifa said in a statement to the daily during the distribution of fodder said this step limits the high prices and eliminates the black market, explaining that the distribution comes in response to the conditions of the current stage and fears of the lack of products and the state’s responsibilities towards citizens and residents alike, and in implementation of directives issued by the Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Muhammad Al-Jabri and Director-General of the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources Sheikh Mohammad Al- Youssef to provide support and ensure that there is no shortage.

In another development, Kuwait Oil Tankers (KOT) has requested the issuance of a variation order of $4.8 million concerning the vessel contracts signed between KOT and Drydocks World in Dubai, reports Al-Anba daily

The above-mentioned sum represents 13.13 percent of the total amount of contract i.e. $ 36.58 million. On the other hand, KOT said the total sum of contract has been reduced by $5.6 million (15.3 percent) due to amendment of the contract. The contract, which was signed in 2018 includes exclusive regular maintenance of Kuwaiti oil tankers, covering the body and engine, in addition to cleaning and painting the containers while preserving navigation machines in three years.
