Policemen cannot file case against each other without prior approval – Some complaints malicious

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Issam Al-Naham has issued a circular to the general police force according to which cases against each other (policemen) cannot be filed before obtaining permission from the department heads in their sectors, reports Al-Anba daily.

The circular, a copy of which has been obtained by the daily includes the following: Confirmation of Circular No. (3) of 1996 and Circular No. (88) of 2016 on the use of some members of the police force to submit reports or complaints against each other or against their superiors at work.

Some of these reports or complaints have been found to be malicious, whether because of disciplinary sanctions taken against the complainant or for any other reason which damages the reputation of the police.

All members of the police force must, before submitting their reports or complaints about any dispute within the scope of the work, must obtain the prior authorization of the department heads and their Directors-General.

Anyone who contravenes this is subject to disciplinary accountability, bearing in mind that in the event of filing a complaint legal action will be taken and the person will be referred to the competent authority of the Ministry.
