Police rescues 3 Filipina maids locked inside apartment for 4 days

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: Farwaniya police rescued three Filipina housemaids who were detained by an Asian woman for four days inside an apartment in Farwaniya, reports Al-Rai daily. According to security sources, one of the detained housemaids called police, informing that she and two of her compatriots are detained in an apartment and she did not know where it was located. Using the Location service within Whatsapp, securitymen received the location of the apartment and rushed to the location.

When they reached the place, they noticed one of the women attempting to jump out of the window and they asked her to get back inside. After taking legal procedures, police raided the apartment and rescued the three housemaids.

They informed the police that the Asian woman lured them through Facebook to run away from their sponsors as she could offer them good jobs. She sent a taxi to them and they were taken to the apartment where they were kept behind locked doors. Police are looking for the Asian woman.

Attempt to rob bank: An unknown individual attempted to rob the branch office of a bank in Rumaithiya area, reports Al- Anba daily. According to security sources, an Egyptian security guard noticed an intruder inside the bank and called police. He informed that thief managed to make a hole in the ceiling and jumped down to the treasury room, but he fled when he failed to open it. Police hurried to the bank along with officers from General Department for Criminal Evidences who lifted fingerprints to identify the culprit. They have been viewing the records of the CCTV cameras and conducting investigations to determine why the alarms system did not work.

Interpol arrest Sudanese: A 55-year old Sudanese man who is wanted by the Interpol for participating in the 1999 rebel movement in his home country, was arrested in Capital Governorate, reports Al-Shahed daily. He was referred to the Criminal Investigations Department for necessary action against him.

‘Missing’ girl turns up: A Kuwaiti girl who was reported as missing in Turkey, turned up, explaining that she intentionally stayed late due to some disagreements with her mother, reports Al-Shahed daily. The girl’s family reported about the missing girl at the Kuwaiti Embassy in Istanbul, explaining that the girl went to Taksim Square for shopping and had sent a text message that she would return soon but when she did not come at the scheduled time, her mother became concerned. After the embassy notified the concerned Turkish authorities, the latter checked the cameras installed around the area and tracked the mobile line of the girl. Eventually, she came home late.
