Strife warned in ‘bedoun’ issue

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The State Security police is reportedly looking into the file of an unidentified person who is said to be spreading false information about the issue of the bedoun to force the government of Kuwait to grant them citizenship, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the State Security is working hand in hand with the E-Crimes Department to gather information about the suspect. The Electronic Crimes Department is only concerned about receiving, dealing with the case, verifying the facts and referring the issue to the judiciary, said a source familiar with the department.

The sources pointed out, the voice mail of the alleged person has been minutely scrutinized as he refers to the issue as ‘the bedoun time bomb’ ready to explode at any moment. He is heard saying the explosion will be loud and warned of severe consequences if the issue is of granting nationality at random is neglected.

The sources added, there is every possibility this person who claims to be a VIP is an impersonator, belonging to the bedoun category. It is noteworthy to mention, the alleged person in the voice mail has warned of a major strife and civil war if the bedoun are not granted citizenship, especially since many of them have received military training by virtue of their work in the army.

Detention ordered:
The interrogator of a police station has ordered the detention of a member of the ruling family for assaulting a police offi cer on duty, reports Al-Rai daily. The suspect was put behind bars after the offi cer submitted a medical report and after the security authorities checked the CCTV footage of the incident. A case of misdemeanor has been fi led against the member of the ruling family.
