Police arrest two Kuwaiti citizens for having drugs

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 7: Two Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in Omariya area in possession of drugs. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling Omariya area when they suspected a vehicle with two occupants and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked the details of the driver to discover he is a 1991-born Kuwaiti citizen and his passenger is a 1982-born Kuwaiti citizen. When securitymen asked them to step out of the vehicle, they refused. Securitymen forced them out of the vehicle and checked him to find drugs and drug paraphernalia on them.

They were arrested and referred with the confiscated items to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. Meanwhile, a Syrian expatriate was arrested in Khaitan area in possession of Captagon pills. He was referred with the pills to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action. In addition, officers from General Department for Criminal Evidences arrested two Kuwaiti citizens who were accused of drug peddling. They were detained for investigations.

Jordanian sought: Owners of some car rental offices filed cases against a Jordanian employee of Ministry of Defense for failing to return vehicles he rented from those offices. According to security sources, the owner of a car rental office went to Ardiya Police Station to report that a Jordanian expatriate holding a military ID card rented a vehicle from his office and failed to return the vehicle and pay the dues. When securitymen were unable to reach him through his mobile phone, they contacted his father but the latter did not know about his son’s whereabouts. Securitymen checked his details to discover a number of cases of breach of trust were filed against the suspect. They filed another case and launched investigations to find and arrest him.

Thieves arrested: A gang of three individuals specialized in stealing the content of cars after breaking the glass was apprehended by officers from Jahra Criminal Investigation Department. In a statement, General Department of Public Relations and Media Security identified members of the gang as Bedoun born in 1999 named Abdullah Muhammad, another Bedoun born in 2002 known as Yusuf Muhammad, and Saudi national, Sultan Salem, born in 2000.

It explained that Jahra Criminal Investigation Department received report about a gang specialized in breaking into vehicles and stealing the contents, and acting on information, a trap was set for them. They were arrested in Sulaibiya area where they admitted to stealing the contents of cars in Jahra governorate after breaking the glass. They noted the first person them watches out, while the second person breaks the glass of cars, and the third one steals the contents. They were referred to relevant authorities for legal action.

Gambling money: The Egyptian security authorities have arrested two Kuwaitis, believed to be 27 and 30 years old respectively for possessing $61,140, reports Al-Jarida daily. The daily added the men were arrested at the Sharm el-Sheikh Airport before boarding the Kuwait Airways flight to Kuwait. The money was hidden in their baggage and during interrogation the men admitted to gambling. They said they made the money in a casino in Egypt. Foreign monetary laws allow a passenger to carry not more than $10,000 or its equivalent. The money has been confiscated, a case has been filed and the men have been referred to the Public Prosecution in Egypt.
