Philippine envoy inducts new PhilSoc MSK officers

Group caters to skilled, professional job opportunities in Kuwait

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 23: Philippine Ambassador to Kuwait Renato Pedro Villa inducted this weekend the new officers of the Philippine Society of Marketing Specialists in Kuwait (PhilSoc MSK), a group of Philippine Manpower Agencies that caters to skilled and professional job opportunities in the State of Kuwait.

Part of the group’s advocacy is the promotion of welfare and protection of rights of OFWs in Kuwait. Villa sworn into office PhilSoc MSK President Mariam Macapudi, Vice-President Basem Al Ali, Secretary-General John Joseph Braga, Secretary Eva Tendenilla, Treasurer Soraya Ballang and Marcian Julkipli, Auditor Norma Duquette, PRO Gina Ramos and Aryl Bellezo as well as Chairman Ma Dolores Elenany and Vice-Chairman Analita Del Mundo.

Villa lauded the group’s mission and vision in helping uplift the status of Filipino skilled workers in Kuwait and organising activities to rally the rights of Overseas Filipino Workers in general. “I would like to congratulate the newly inducted officers of PhilSoc. Rest assured of the embassy’s full support on your future endeavour,” stated Villa. In response, Macapudi thanked Villa for the embassy’s support to the group as she enjoined everyone to be one with the group’s mission and vision in deploying highly qualified skilled workers to Kuwait and help in providing jobs to thousands of unemployed in the Philippines.

Prior to the induction ceremony at the Philippine Embassy, the group held an induction program at the Max’s Restaurant that was attended by Philippine Assistant Labour Attache Lily Pearl Guerrero, Philippine Embassy Administrative Offider Girlie Caba and other distinguished guests that included SANDIGAN Kuwait founders Mary Ann Abunda and Chito Neri and Atty Hamad Nasser Al Aftan of the Humanitarian Foundation for Legal Aid.

Al Aftan in his inspirational speech urged the group to continue with its mission in uplifting the image of Filipino workers in Kuwait and protecting their rights and welfare. “We will be here if you need our help in handling and resolving some labour cases,” stressed Al Aftan. The program hosted by Ben Braga and Del Mundo was marked by intermission numbers by the Infinity Event Management talents namely Jennifer Uy, Carlo Delfinado, Mark Guarin, Mark Franciso, and Najwa Lacson. The Mad Vibes dance group also performed bombastic dances to the delight of the audience. The event was capped by the ceremonial cutting of the cake by Macapudi, Al Ali, Del Mundo, Caba, Guerrero and Ballang followed by the sumptuous dinner buffet.
