People trapped in elevator, car rescued

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 5: Firefighters dealt with two incidents that occurred in Al-Mubarakiya area and on Fifth Ring Road on Friday, Jan 3 and Saturday, Jan 4 respectively.

Department of Public Relations and Media at Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) explained that, in the first incident, officers from Kuwait City Fire Station and Technical Rescue Center promptly rushed to a restaurant in Al-Mubarakiya immediately after they were notified about the breakdown of a lift in the restaurant.

The officers drew down the lift, opened it and got out the people who were trapped in the lift without any injury.

In the second incident, officers from the Technical Rescue Center rescued two men who were trapped inside their cars after they collided on the Fifth Ring Road near Salmiya area. They used hydraulic machine to cut up a car before they could rescue one of the victims and handed him over to the paramedics for medical attention at a hospital.
