KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: The Fourth Labor Circuit of the Court of Appeals dismissed the appeal filed by a contracting company in the private oil sector, and u p h e l d the verdict issued by the Court of First Instance, which affirmed the right of an employee in the private oil sector to be entitled to KD 114,000 as per the contract agreement.

According to the case file, the employee filed a lawsuit through his counsel Lawyer Mohammad Al-Mutairi, demanding his labor rights pursuant to the oil sector law No. 28/1969 as well as regulations and decisions issued by Kuwait Petroleum Corporation. The counsel demanded entitlements for his client that included annual leaves, air tickets, overtime, annual increment, housing allowance, transfer allowance and incentive allowance, which were contained in the bylaw for private oil sector contracts like their counterparts in the government oil sector.
