KUWAIT CITY, Dec 18: The Court of Appeals, Personal Status Circuit, has obliged a citizen, married to four wives, to provide his third wife and their children, a monthly alimony of KD 330, and to cater to the needs of the family of hiring a domestic worker, KD 4,000 for her vehicle and give her the custody of children. The lawyer for the plaintiff was attorney Faisal Muhammad Al- Otaibi, who argued his client was married to the defendant and had two children. As per the testimony of two witnesses, the defendant had stopped providing family sustenance for more than a year, although he travels a lot and tours many countries. The court also obliged the defendant to pay the salary of the domestic worker and the driver. Earlier the lower court verdict had ruled the sustenance paid by the man to his wife and children was low.Date cancelled: The Administrative Court chaired by Judge Dr. Mohammad Al-Tamimi, has issued a decision to cancel the election date of Sadeq Cooperative Society which was scheduled to be held, Monday, December 19. The reason for the cancellation was linked to registration of nominees as well as dubious names on the list of shareholders in the fi le of the concerned ministry. According to the lawyer for the plaintiffs Mohammad Al-Ansari, the court discharged its legal duty appropriately. He reiterated the judgment has now suspended the General Assembly Meeting and elections of the society’s board. This is due to administrative violations committed by the committee chairman, which could almost be regarded as forgery.Ajmi hearing delayed: The Court of Appeals adjourned until March 19, the case of Saad Al-Ajmi concerning the withdrawal of his citizenship. During last session, the government lawyer presented copies of honorary membership of Saad Al- Ajmi in Al-Nasr Sports Club of Saudi Arabia to support the withdrawal of his citizenship.
