Parents warned of risk posed by magnetic bead

KUWAIT CITY, June 14: With the start of the summer holiday, the Ministry of Education warned parents and guardians of children in nurseries and lower primary level about the risks posed by the magnetic bead (ball) toy which was banned in various countries due to serious health risks for children.

In the same context, Farwaniya Educational District Director Jassem Bohamad requested circulation of the warning to schools especially the lower level schools, given that the Department of School Health Program issued warnings about the toy which is also known as ‘Buckyballs Magnets’ as it is a very serious health hazard in case it is swallowed; hence, many countries have banned it.
