The Kuwaiti Paralympic athletics champion Ahmad Al-Mutairi came back Kuwait on Wednesday, after winning the golden medal of 100 Meter Wheelchair Race in the Paralympics tournament held in Brazil, which concluded its activities in Rio De Janeiro two days ago. Champion Al-Mutairi was received at the VIPs lounge at Kuwait International Airport in a reception attended by officials and public dignitaries.

He was received by the Minister of Information, Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah and Minister of Social Affairs and Labour Hind Al-Sebeeh.

Also attending the honoring ceremony for the national champion were Head of Kuwait Olympic Committee Sheikh Fahad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah, MPs, senior officials at the Public Authority for Youth and Sport (PAYS), Honorary President of Kuwait Disabled Sports Club for Handicapped, Sheikha Shaikha Abdullah Al Sabah, Chairman of the Club Shafi Al-Hajri, and board members, along with sports figures and a large number of citizens.

The Kuwaiti National Team participated in this tournament launched by the Brazilian President Michel Temer on Sept 7, with five players in the athletics, namely: Ahmad Al-Mutairi, Hamad Al-Adwani, Nasser Saleh, Abduallah Al-Seif, and Mohamamd Mejbel. Atef Al-Dosari partook in the shooting games. (KUNA)
