Public Authority for Manpower bans ‘transfer’ of laborers with work permits registered under co-ops

KUWAIT CITY, April 28: Public Authority for Manpower has issued a decision to ban the transfer of laborers with work permits registered under cooperative societies to other sectors, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to the decision, laborers with work permits registered under industrial, agricultural, hunting and cooperative societies sectors will be allowed to transfer within these sectors and no others after completing one year of employment. Meanwhile, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at Ministry of Health Dr Majdah Al-Qattan affirmed that the door is wide open for all Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to receive information relating to health so that some misconceptions and wrong information concerning vaccines for diseases such as autism can be corrected, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Based on her strong belief on the need to always verify health information that are on circulation and effect on individuals and the society, Dr Al-Qattan stressed the need for people to seek the assistance of precautionary health officials in Kuwait.

She cited Head of the Anti-Epidemic Unit and member of the National Higher Vaccination Committee Dr Mosa’ab Al-Saleh, as well as the Public Health Specialist and member of the National Higher Vaccination Committee Dr Sundus Qabandi as those that can be sought for health related information.

Dr Al-Qattan said the sector will adopt a new mechanism by early 2017 for dealing with polio as a measure to reduce the cost in line with the country’s strategy for streamlining expenditures. She affirmed that chicken pox vaccines will be included in the new vaccine list for January next year, denying the speculation that the ministry is not serious about importing the vaccine and others. In the meantime, the committee in charge of determining the promotion ranks and designations of employees in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor has finalized the list of employees who deserve promotion and this list has been submitted to Minister Hind Al-Subaih for approval, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.
