MPW seeks cash to fill up potholes on roads

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: A reliable source at the Public Authority for Assessment the Compensations said about 2,000 people afflicted by the recent heavy rainfall have filed for compensation before the door closes for filing requests, reports Al-Anba daily.

Speaking to the daily, the source pointed out committee has given invoices to more than 400 people afflicted by the rains to receive their compensations which means their claims have been accepted.. however, they have to wait for their turn.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Public Works is seeking additional budget from the Ministry of Finance to repair potholes on roads and highways caused by the recent heavy rains, reports Al-Anba daily.

The source added the ministry has prepared a report on the roads which need urgent attention because of flying gravel. Meanwhile, the neutral committee which was formed by the Minister of Public Works on the issue of flying gravel is expected to submit its report within two weeks.

The minister will then submit the report to the Council of Ministers and then the National Assembly for necessary action.
