Ooredoo among ‘Top Companies in Arab World’ – Company receives award at Forbes Mideast gala ceremony

KUWAIT CITY, June 7: Ooredoo Kuwait, a member of the international Ooredoo Group, has recently been recognized  by Forbes Middle East as one of the ‘Top Companies in the Arab World 2016’, during its annual gala ceremony that was  held under the patronage of Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel & Spa in Kuwait and was attended by numerous CEOs from corporate, public and private institutions, in addition to diplomatic institutions in Kuwait and the Arab region. On behalf of Ooredoo Group, award was received by Dr Hamad Al Nuaimi, Senior Consultant at Ooredoo Kuwait.

Commenting on this achievement, Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani, Group CEO, Ooredoo said: “Proud to receive such a prestigious award from one of the top leading publications in the Arab region. In addition to this award, Ooredoo had recently been ranked as one of the top ten most valuable brands in the MENA region for the first time according to a new study done by the leading intangible asset valuation consultancy Brand Finance, following a successful year that has seen the company raise its profile around the world.

After obtaining this position, Ooredoo had become one of the most valuable brand in the telecommunication sector. According to the report, Ooredoo’s brand value has consistently increased since the company began its global brand roll-out in February 2013. During these three years, Ooredoo has seen a 169% increase in its estimated brand value, which the report calculates at US$ 2.1 billion in 2016.

The report also notes that, with its AA+ brand rating, Ooredoo is the strongest telecoms brand in the region. The report states that the company is one of the most valuable communications brands in the Middle East today, and could rank higher in the future as Ooredoo continues to build its customer base and reinforce its brand. Ooredoo’s global customer base reached 118 million by the end of March 2016.
