Third consecutive day infection crosses above thousand

KUWAIT CITY, May 20: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday recording 1,168 new coronavirus infections and 8 deaths caused by contamination with COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. The new figures took total the cases tally to 295,861 and deaths to 1,711 respectively, noted the ministry’s spokesman Dr Abdullah Al-Sanad in a statement to KUNA. He said 980 more people were cured of the virus over the past day, raising the total of those who overcame the respiratory infectious disease to 281,920. He has added that the number of people hospitalized with the virus currently stands at 12,230 with 183 of them in intensive care units (ICUs). (KUNA)
