KUWAIT CITY, March 4, (Agencies): A senior official has commended the two Kuwaiti female shooters Shahd and Sara Al-Hawwal who won the gold and the silver medal in His Highness Amir Int’l shooting tourney.
Secretary General of the Kuwaiti Shooting Club Obeid Al-Oseimi told KUNA on Thursday that Shahd Al-Hawwal’s winning of the first place and the gold medal showed how she is keen to recover past status after an injury kept her away for a long time.
By the same token, Sarah Al-Hawwal offered excellent performance at the initial stages of the tourney, and won first place in the first three rounds, Al-Oseimi added.
In fact, both sisters deserve gold medals for their skills and wonderful performance, he said.
Shahd and Sara Al-Hawwal dedicated their victory to the Kuwaiti leadership, people and shooting community.
Heads of Arab Shooting Federations (ASF) have expressed gratitude and appreciation to HH the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for the unlimited support he gives to shooting sports that has helped enhance its status internationally.
This came at the annual general assembly chaired by Engineer Duaij Khalaf Al-Otaibi, head of Kuwait and Arab Shooting Federations, and attended by the Secretary General of Kuwait and Arab Federations Obeidi Al-Osaimi.
The heads of shooting federations praised the role played by Kuwait in promoting Arab shooting sports, in addition to the efforts rendered by Engineer Al-Otaibi toward development of the sports, which includes technical and administrative.
Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi presented the latest report on Egypt Shooting Federation and its preparation to host the Arab Shooting Championship at the end of March (2016) and also endorsed Kuwait to host the same events in 2017.
In addition, the assembly endorsed the future work plan of Arab Shooting Federation, which includes the enhancement of cooperation between federations and organizing comprehensive or specific shooting tournaments in different Arab countries.
