Officers under probe for assault

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 6: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant-General Suleiman Al- Fahd has referred a police captain from the General Department for Drugs Control and two Ahmadi patrolmen for investigation, reports Al- Rai daily. A security source said the police officer was riding in a car with a friend and the patrolmen ordered the man behind the wheel to pull over and requested to see their IDs.

The police captain was surprised when he was told that he was under the influence of alcohol. The officer denied the accusation and asked the patrolmen to refer him to Forensics for a blood test. The source added the police officer refused to get into the patrol vehicle and the two policemen assaulted him and forcibly took him to the Police Station and then to the Forensics Department where the blood tests proved negative.
