Officer to testify in ‘Abdali Cell’ case today

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: The Criminal Division of the Court of First Instance, presided by Justice Mohammad Al- Daeej Tuesday will listen to the testimony of the officer in the State Security case No 55/2015 concerning the socalled ‘Al-Abdali Cell’.

According to case papers 26 people are in police custody who were reportedly planning subversive activities.

The court had earlier listened to ‘in camera’ the testimony of an officer from the General Department of Criminal Investigation and had rejected demands to release the suspects. The court had also listened to the testimony of an officer from the State Security. Meanwhile, the court has released four suspects on KD 500 bail each, but has slapped a travel ban on them and obliged them to attend the court sessions. All of the 26 involved in the case are Kuwaitis except for one, who is an Iranian.
