KUWAIT CITY, Dec 7: Director General for Public Relations and Media Security at Ministry of Interior Brigadier Adel Al- Hashash has affirmed that his department possesses clear vision and follows a policy based on scientific principles.

According to a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, Brigadier Al-Hashash said this in response to a report published in edition No. 17286 of Al-Seyassah newspaper dated December 5 under the headline “Media Security and State Security Apparatus” in which the department was criticized. He refuted the claim that the department was hiding from the public some vital information about the security sector, stressing that the department does not single out a particular sector for public information while covering the activities of others, due to which the insinuation was misplaced.

Brigadier Al-Hashash explained that Ministry of Interior has a longstanding policy through which the department disseminates information; thereby it is highly conscious of what and what not to reel out. He urged for understanding of the professionalism involved, such that thorough considerations must be applied to security related information.

He stressed that all departments of Ministry of Interior work along different paths to achieve common objectives. Therefore, whenever achievements of any of them are announced, it is about appreciating the entire teams rather than eulogizing a particular sector at the expense of others.

Brigadier Al-Hashash affirmed that all segments of the ministry work under a single broad umbrella and the department therefore is using all available media – modern and conventional – and that there are enough capabilities to reach out to the public adequately.
