No explosives found in vehicle parked in restricted area near Riqqa mosque

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 27: A vehicle that was parked in a restricted location near a mosque in Riqqa area raised suspicions. However, no explosives were found inside the vehicle and the Kuwaiti owner of the vehicle has been summoned to sign a written pledge to not commit such a violation again, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to security sources, State Security officers rushed to the mosque after receiving information about a vehicle parked near the mosque despite strict structures place to stop vehicles from parking near mosques. They cordoned the area and prevented worshippers from approaching or entering the mosque.

The owner of the vehicle who is a Kuwaiti citizen was identified through the system of the General Traffic Department. Even though securitymen called him several times, his mobile phone was switched off and this had aroused more suspicion. No explosives were found in the vehicle and it was lifted. The Kuwaiti owner of the vehicle will be summoned and forced to sign a written pledge to affirm that he will not repeat such a violation again
