Newborn babies of expats stranded abroad

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Dozens of expatriates face a severe humanitarian problem, because of their inability to register their newborns under their sponsorship, who were born in their home countries during the current summer vacation because the Ministry of Interior has stopped issuing all family visas (dependent and visit) until further notice, reports Al-Qabas daily.

These parents told the daily this situation threatens family reunification saying requests have been submitted to the concerned authorities to exclude newborns from the decision, especially since most of the applicants are teachers and are waiting to return to Kuwait before next Monday. Dozens of expatriates have called on the Ministry of Interior to look at the issue from the humanitarian point of view.
