KUWAIT CITY, Oct 10: The Assistant Undersecretary for Postal Affairs in the Ministry of Communications Buthaina Al-Suba’e announced that the sector is on the verge of creating new customs zones for dispatching parcels and couriers, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Al-Suba’e made the statement after the World Postal Day celebrations in Al-Sadeeq Post Office and said works in those zones will be done in coordination with the General Customs Administration to ensure safe delivery of parcels and couriers between both agencies.

She stated that customs will be following up the procedures of establishing the zones, and the idea will spread out the process of delivery instead of the current centralization. She stressed the step is reasonable for improving on the current level of services, so that the public can enjoy better services in the postal sector. She reiterated the customs zones will be located at Jaber Al-Ahmad City and Mangaf.
