Murder seen as body of man found rotting in flat

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 26: The decomposing body of an Asian, believed to have died three months ago, was found in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh rousing suspicion of foul play. It has been reported that the caretaker (‘haris’) of the building went to the apartment of the victim who did not pay the rent for three months, he knocked several times but no one responded. He noticed bad smell emanating from the apartment so he, accompanied by the victim’s friend, broke the door and they were shocked to find the decaying body of the victim.

They called the Operations Unit of the Interior Ministry and a security team was dispatched to the scene immediately. Another team from the Criminal Investigations Unit was summoned to examine the body which was then referred to Forensics to determine the cause of death. A murder case was registered and investigations are ongoing in this regard

Drug seized: Customs officers at Kuwait airport foiled an attempt by one Asian expatriate to smuggle 2 kilos of drugs carefully hidden in his luggage. Apparently, the officers were inspecting the luggage of passengers arriving from an unnamed Asian country when they suspected the aforementioned baggage. They went ahead and searched the bag thoroughly and found illicit drugs. The suspect admitted smuggling the contraband to sell in the country. He was referred to Drug Control General Department. Meanwhile, securitymen arrested a person coming from an Arab country in possession of 10 bottles of imported liquor, which he tried to smuggle into the country.
