‘Murder’ at campsite as man knocks down friend in brawl

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 27: A 46-year-old Kuwaiti man died when his friend purportedly knocked him down with his car. A security source revealed the Kuwaiti died upon arrival at Adan Hospital and his brother told police that a friend was behind his death. The brother said two groups of youths were involved in a fistfight at a camping site in Abdullah Port area. During the fight, the alleged murderer – a 38- year-old man – took his car and he deliberately ran over the victim. The victim’s body was referred to Forensics and investigations are in progress to determine the actual circumstances leading to his death.

Safety, security items distributed
In continuation of the month-long “Salem 2” awareness campaign that kicked-off Saturday, officers and non-commissioned officers from Kuwait Fire Service Directorate (KFSD) Sunday joined forces with their counterparts from the Ministry of Interior to distribute safety and security equipment such as fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and orientation brochures to road users returning from Mutlaa desert region, north of Kuwait.

The campaign was led by Assistant Undersecretary for Border Security Affairs Major General Mohammad Al-Yusuf, Director General of Land Border Security Major General Fouad Al-Athari, Inspection Officer Lieutenant Colonel Meshal Al- Daweesh, and Head of Security in the Western Region Major Ahmad Al-Enezi
