KUWAIT CITY, April 26: Director of Public Hygiene and Road Occupation Department in Capital Municipality Meshal Al-Azmi said Shift B of the city cleaning center launched a campaign targeting hawkers in Qibla area, reports Al-Seyassah daily.In a press release, he explained that the campaign resulted in the issuance of 120 citations, confiscation of nine tons of food items and nine kilograms of banned items that are not allowed to be sold.Inspectors Walid Al-Kandari and Yusuf Al-Dousari participated in the campaign along with Muhammad Abdulshafifrom Public Relations Department. Meanwhile, Director of Public Hygiene and Road Occupation Department in Farwaniya Municipality Sa’ad Al-Khurainej revealed that campaigns targeting cafés in Khaitan area were launched and resulted in the issuance of 45 citations.These campaigns were launched based on a number of complaints about violations related to occupation of car parks by some cafés and encroachment on state properties. About 15 citations were issued for the use of additional space without the relevant licenses and ten citations were issued for lack of commitment to the conditions related to hygiene.Head of the emergency team Ahmed Al-Shraikah revealed that the campaigns are carried out after coordinating with the Public Hygiene and Road Occupation Department in order to deter as many violators as possible, adding that the inspectors issued 20 citations including eight for advertisement-related violations and 12 constructional violations for building partitions without obtaining relevant licenses.
