KUWAIT CITY, March 7: The Services Sector at Kuwait Municipality recently held a meeting with representatives of the public sanitation departments in the branches of the Municipality in various governorates to discuss the sporadic employment of cleaners in schools, reports Al-Rai daily quoting sources. Sources informed the daily that the sanitation contracts signed with the Municipality do not allow the employees of cleaning companies to work in government buildings and facilities, and to perform additional tasks.

Sources clarified the contracts do not allow these companies to work for two entities at the same time, so the task of cleaning schools is not stipulated in the contracts. Sources explained that the number of cleaners is specified for each contract and they are distributed on the streets according to a plan under the supervision of the concerned companies and the Municipality. In case of any shortcoming, the erring company will be held accountable immediately, sources added.
