MP proposal tackles parking

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 11: MPs Osama Al-Shaheen, Abdulaziz Al-Saqaabi and Hamad Al-Matar submitted a proposal to establish a company that will manage public parking areas located in State properties. The company will be established according to the Partnership Enterprises Law, so the shares of the company will be offered for public subscription to citizens.

The company will also provide parking areas for enterprises owned by young citizens; specify the rules and technical criteria in this regard; shoulder the cost of preparing, maintaining and cleaning the parking areas; open facilities to provide certain services like car wash, car repair and installation of car accessories; specify the free parking period; and impose fees on those who will violate the specified period. The collected fees will be handed over to the State treasury. MP Osama Al-Shaheen asked Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic and Investment Affairs Khalifa Hamada about the information he obtained that an Emirati-Zionist alliance now owns Bahrain’s BFC Group Holdings and its subsidiaries including Kuwait Bahrain Exchange that is licensed by the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).
