KUWAIT CITY, Nov 15: Police have taken into custody an unidentified woman and her son for blackmailing another youth and demanding KD 35,000 to protect his reputation, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily added, the victim had sex with two other youths and later when he refused to oblige the suspects threatened to post his video clip on the social media. Then an idea struck them and they demanded KD 20,000 to protect his name. When the mother of one of the rapists saw her son had suddenly become a spendthrift, demanded to know the source of money, and the son narrated the incident. The mother instead of punishing her son, urged him to demand KD 35,000 more following which the victim filed a complaint with the police. The police then set a trap for the mother and her son and caught them red-handed while receiving the money. The mother, the son and the third accomplice have been referred to the authorities.
Fraudster arrested: Personnel from the Criminal Investigations Department have arrested an Arab man for swindling citizens and residents by convincing them to invest their money and promising 25 percent annual returns, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, after taking the money the suspect would disappear and the arrest came after one of the victims, a Serbian, filed a complaint with the Nugra Police Station. In the complaint the victim said after paying KD 3,500 the Arab was neither seen nor received calls on his cell phone. Intensive investigations led to the arrest of the fraudster who has admitted to his crimes. He has reportedly cheated people to the tune of KD 43,000.
3 caught drunk: Police have arrested three unidentified youths for drinking alcohol and consuming drugs, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the arrest came following a call to the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry that a person at an unidentified location had been kidnapped by three people. Police have seized drugs, a bottle of whisky and drug consuming tools from the car of the three youths.
Smoking hashish: Security officers at the Kuwaiti International Airport have arrested two Kuwaitis for smoking hashish, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the suspects were caught while consuming drugs in the smokers-room at the departure hall. Police have seized hashish from the men and referred them to the General Department for Drugs Control.
Bootleggers held: The Farwaniya police have arrested two Asians for bootlegging, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the suspects were caught at a police check point. At the time of arrest police also found with the suspects medicines, cleavers, gambling cards and a medical instrument.
