KUWAIT CITY, Oct 23: The Ministry of Social Affairs is currently coordinating with every authority in charge of private nurseries to link procedures with the inspection report issued by the Women and Children Unit in the Nursery Section at the Social Development Department, reports Al-Anba daily quoting sources.Sources confirmed the ministry is working towards giving inspectors judicial police authority soon to enable them to enter nurseries, whether licensed or unlicensed. Sources said the ministry is keen on inspecting each nursery with an external billboard or those which operate inside buildings, and then inform the Interior Ministry which will take the necessary measures against them.Sources explained the concerned authorities will not renew the license or residence permits of those working in nurseries until the department inspects the nurseries and completes reports about them. In case proven to have committed violations, the owners will be given a grace period of 30 days to rectify their status; or else, their documents will not be renewed. Sources disclosed almost 100 nurseries have so far been found to be operating without a license and the Interior Ministry will take legal action against them.
