KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: The Nationality and Passports Affairs assistant undersecretary at the Interior Ministry issued a circular to the Secretariat General of the National Assembly requiring the former MPs to hand over their special passports by the beginning of next month.

Sources revealed the circular stressed need for the former MPs to hand over their special passports on the specified date, because they are no longer members of the Assembly. Sources said the former MPs will use their regular passports. Sources added that after the announcement of official results of the upcoming election, special passports will be granted to those who will have the honor of representing the nation. Sources disclosed a directive will be issued to all borders not to accept the special passports of former MPs once the specified hand over period ends.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Commerce and Industry and Minister of Social Affairs and Community Development Fahd Al-Shariaan affirmed that the government will work to develop a mechanism to support food truck owners, and consider their requests for locations of their vehicles, reports Al-Qabas daily. In a statement to the daily, Al-Shariaan explained the government’s keenness, represented by the Ministry of Commerce, to support youth projects and work to meet their demands.
