MOI intends to withdraw Article 17 passports obtained illegally

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 3: The Citizenship and Passports General Department in the Interior Ministry intends to withdraw Article 17 passports which were obtained illegally in order to legalize the issuance of the document to the concerned individuals, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources from the department.

Sources said Article 17 passports are linked with the Central System for Remedying the Status of Illegal Residents (CSRSIR) in order to organize certain procedures concerning Bedouns. Sources added the CSRSIR has designated a WhatsApp number for Bedouns to process transactions under the current circumstances; indicating the renewal of security cards is temporarily suspended, except for important reasons
