KUWAIT CITY, Aug 3: Ministry of Health has denied the news that trended recently, claiming a citizen infected with COVID-19 was not admitted to hospital due to lack of medical ventilators, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In a press statement, the ministry said  the highest clinical capacity rate in the Intensive Care Units during the peak of the pandemic was 45 percent, which confirms that its capacity rate is enough.

The statement added the maximum capacity rate of the ventilators reached 34 percent and did not exceed that rate at any phase of the pandemic, pointing to the Ministry of Health’s constant desire to provide the best means of health care in accordance with the highest quality standards, based on its responsibilities and duties.

The ministry reiterated that the news circulated about the ventilators is devoid of truth at a time when the health system is still managing the pandemic with its sincere workforces that are determined to provide medical care according to international standards.

The ministry called on the public to verify information before posting, noting the sector reserves its legal right towards all false news attributed to its health institutions and affiliates.
