MOH preparing new list of high-risk countries which are prohibited to fly directly

No entry to Kuwait without hotel reservation

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: The health authorities are preparing a new list of high-risk countries based on study and analysis of the global epidemiological situation of coronavirus that will not be allowed to fly directly to Kuwait.


The sources informed that high-risk listed countries will not be able to enter Kuwait directly, but after spending 14 days in non-banned countries they can enter Kuwait adhering to all health measures, reports Al Qabas. Sources stated that if some countries are removed from high-risk lists by the Ministry of Health they will be able to come directly adhering to health requirements and compulsory institutional quarantine.

The source indicated that the operational teams at the airport are waiting for the Ministry of Health to report on the assessment of the health status of these countries, so that some of them will be placed on the list of high-risk countries, or the airlines are allowed to fly directly. If new list of high-risk countries is not received then direct flights with all countries will be opened.

Meanwhile the Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Major General Mansour Al-Awadhi stated that no passenger will be allowed to enter Kuwait through land, air, sea borders without a hotel reservation for institutional quarantine, reports Al Rai. He called up Kuwaiti citizens and expats to register in Kuwait Mossafer app or website before planning to return back to Kuwait.
