MoH is preparing draft budget for fiscal 22/23

KUWAIT CITY, July 15: The Ministry of Health is preparing the draft budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year in accordance with the budget classification (cash basis) whereby the ministry estimates are for three continuous years. The estimates for the first year (2022-2023) are being prepared in accordance with the regulations, while that for the following two fiscal years (2023/2024 and 2024/2025) will be in the form of a medium-term plan, reports Al-Anba daily. The ministry has set conditions in terms of the budget estimates.

The head of each sector will adopt a draft budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year, including all expenditure needs, compile it at the level of departments affiliated with the sector and send it to the assistant undersecretary for Financial Affairs before August 8, 2021. It should be attached with details of the needs of each department. The director of each health zone must approve a draft budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year which should include all expenditure needs. It must be compiled at the level of departments affiliated with the health zone, and sent to the assistant undersecretary for Financial Affairs no later than August 8. It should be attached with details of the needs of each department.

The draft budgets submitted by sector heads and health zone directors will be discussed with the assistant undersecretary for Financial Affairs to determine the actual needs. The discussion date will be set and provided later. The Ministry of Health has called on its various departments not to send their expenditure needs directly to the Finance Sector. Instead, each department must send their needs to the concerned sector head or the director of the health zone, and each sector head or the director of the health zone will collect the needs of each department and send them collectively to the Finance Sector as mentioned above.
