MoC meeting tackles report on cost of Net

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22: Undersecretary of Ministry of Communications Eng Kholoud Al-Shihab presided over a meeting aimed to discuss the study submitted by Fast Telco on behalf of the Internet companies concerning the cost of fiberglass network in Kuwait.

According to the study, the prices taken from the servers in Kuwait are higher than those in the neighboring countries. Kuwaiti companies pay KD 24,000 per 1Gbps to Ministry of Communication for a capacity of NGN. The meeting recommended preparing an integrated study about the challenges and obstacles facing Internet service in Kuwait to be discussed by the relevant specialized committees.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs Eng. Mansour Al-Bader and Assistant Undersecretary for Communications and Support Services Affairs Eng. Rashed Al-Utheina as well as representatives of major Internet companies.
