Minister returning from Italy under home quarantine

KUWAIT CITY, March 2: State Minister for Services and National Assembly Affairs Mubarak Al-Harees was referred for home quarantine after returning from Italy where he spent his leave days, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting sources. Sources affirmed the minister did not attend the Cabinet meeting on Monday as a precautionary measure.

Sources said the procedures being taken by the Health Ministry against coronavirus are applicable to everyone regardless of their positions. Sources added the ministry, through the health protection centers, is constantly monitoring citizens under home quarantine.

Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced importing 3.6 million face masks to meet the growing demand in local markets. Kuwait Supplies Company is tasked with distributing the masks at supplies centers across the country, said the ministry in a statement on Monday. The masks were imported in cooperation with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Defense, using the latter’s airplanes to deliver the items, under direct orders from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, it noted.
