Minister leads 2 huge campaigns to nab violators, wanted persons

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11, (Agencies): Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah led on Saturday two extensive security campaigns aimed at apprehending violators, wanted people and outlaws in the areas of Maidan Hawalli of Hawalli Governorate and Khaitan of the Farwaniya Governorate.

The Ministry of Interior said in a statement issued by the General Administration of Relations and Security Media that the two campaigns came as a continuation of the series of security and traffic campaigns throughout the country, and resulted in the arrest of violators of the residency law and criminally wanted persons, pending cases, and persons without civil IDs which were referred to the competent authority to take legal action against them. It reported that, during the two campaigns, the security forces closed the entrances and exits of the two areas mentioned above, while checkpoints were set up with the spread of security patrols to check the identities of people.

The ministry pointed to the continuation of the security and traffic campaigns, while continuing to cordon off the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh areas of the Farwaniya and Mahboula governorates in the Ahmadi governorate to arrest violators and impose the prestige of the law, calling on everyone to cooperate with the security men and not to harbor or cover up any violator of the residence law in order to avoid legal accountability.

Sheikh Talal Khaled was accompanied during the two campaigns by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic and Operations Affairs Major General Jamal Al-Sayegh, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs Major General Abdullah Al-Rajeeb and a number of security leaders.
