Millions involved as real estate fraud case resurfaces in courts

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 17: The real estate fraud case has resurfaced in the courtrooms again. The Criminal Court has set the session of November 3 for judgment in the case of sale of a chalet in Khairan area “Sabah Al-Ahmad Seaside”.

The case was filed against two Kuwaitis and two Iraqis who were accused of advertising and selling chalets worth about KD 4.5 million, reports A l – Seyassah daily. According to the plaintiff counsel Lawyer Ali Al- Attar, the value of the chalets was as presented by the owners in the writ of summon.

It was gathered that the entire fraudulent activities and money laundering in this case were worth up to KD 339 million. He said the company run by the defendants advertised the properties in question with the promise to hand over the relevant documents, but they reneged on this pledge.
