MEW denies cut in water supply

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 30: Assistant Undersecretary for Water Operation and Maintenance in the Ministry of Electricity and Water Eng Khalifa Muhammad Al-Fureij has vehemently denied news circulating in the press and social media platforms concerning notification of general cut-off of water supply on Tuesday, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

Al-Fureij explained the letter, which went viral on various social media platforms, is one of the letters related to a scheme to link new water pipes with the existing ones in upper Mitlaa’ area (North Mutlaa’). He pointed out the linking of such pipes and water supply disruption in relation with the scheme will be done after extensive studies, coordination and preparation according to prevailing procedures in such operations without affecting water supply in residential areas.
