Medical lab operating without license shut

KUWAIT CITY, July 25: The Assistant Undersecretary for National Medical Services Affairs at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Fatima Al-Najjar, reported that the Administrative Inspection Committee in the Health Licensing Department sealed a medical laboratory in Farwaniya for operating after the license had expired, reports Al-Qabas daily.

Dr. Al-Najjar stated that a number of other violations were observed in this laboratory, including the presence of a laboratory technician who does not have a license to practice a profession, in addition to the fact that the administrative and technical staff whose residence does not belong to this laboratory, but to another place. She pointed out that the matter will be referred to the Public Prosecution and stressed that the health of citizens and residents is a “red line”, and any violators of the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Health will be held accountable.
