Mechanism eyed to handover public toilets to cleaning firms

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 26: Director of Kuwait Municipality Engineer Ahmed Al-Manfouhi addressed the committee for counting public toilets in all six governorates to study proposals presented on public toilets, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The proposals include laying down mechanism to handover public toilets to cleaning companies at the beginning of their contracts and studying the significance of imposing a slight fee for using the public toilets to guarantee the continuation of the service.

It also suggested studying the possibility of offering public toilets to special investment companies to manage while taking relevant steps to incorporate detailed account of the violations detected in contracts in the operation and maintenance of public toilets, in accordance with the cleaning contracts. Al-Manfouhi called for the relocation of public toilets along the highways and desert areas.

For his part, head of the committee and Director of Jahra Municipality Engineer Muhammad Al-Aradi said the committee has reviewed a detailed report concerning the number of public toilets, their locations and condition, in addition to the system of maintenance and operation.
