Many ‘runaway’ maids found in bogus office

KUWAIT CITY, May 24: Director General of Domestic Labor Department Major General Talal Marafie and his deputy Brigadier Abdullah Al-Hajri raided a bogus manpower recruitment office for sheltering runaway housemaids and exploiting them to work illegally.

They also apprehended a ‘middleman’ who delivered the housemaids to their new employers after the latter had paid the service fee of KD 1,300 to the bogus agency. Security sources said officers from the Domestic Labor Department took into custody a large number of domestic residency violators from bogus recruitment agencies in Jahra area.
