Many held in ‘drifting’

KUWAIT CITY, May 24: Ahmadi securitymen launched a number of security campaigns in Sabahiya, Umm Al-Haiman and Wafra areas during which they arrested nine individuals who were caught driving dangerously. According to security sources, Ahmadi Security Director Brigadier Abdullah Safa, after receiving complaints concerning reckless drivers, formed a security team to launch campaigns against this negative phenomenon especially since it endangers the lives of other road users and causes traffic congestion. The team held security campaigns and arrested nine Kuwaiti citizens. They were referred to the police station of the area and their vehicles were seized.

Meanwhile, a youth who was seen driving recklessly was arrested following a police chase. Securitymen were on routine patrol duty when they saw the youth driving recklessly and ordered him to pull over. He ignored their orders and sped off, forcing securitymen to chase him. He later stopped his car and started running but securitymen ran after him and caught him. He was referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
