KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: With emphasis on the ministry’s full support to farmers for the promotion of agricultural wealth, according to regulations and laws to bring in workers from abroad, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Citizenship and Passports Affairs Major-General Sheikh Mazen Al-Jarrah stressed on the need to estimate the employment rate commensurate with the size of the work, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The ministry has come to this conclusion after it was observed during the past period that the figure of the needed workforce was inflated which has negatively affected the security and stability of the country, In this regard Al-Jarrah met recently the President and members of the Farmers’ Union because the Interior Ministry is keen to overcome all the obstacles facing workers affairs in the field of agriculture.

During the meeting the senior Interior Ministry official discussed a number of issues of common interest through the exchange of cordial and clear talks, laying emphasis on the need to estimate the size of the workforce. During the talks, Al-Jarrah also pointed out that several workers hired to work in the agriculture sector do not work for their sponsors in violation of the law, something which the Ministry of Interior will not allow to happen. He said there was a clear under-standing by the President and members of the Farmers Union that the Ministry of Interior is keen to facilitate the tasks of farmers without prejudice to the security and stability of the country amid attempts to eliminate marginal employment some of whom threaten the security and safety of the country.
