KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: A police station head with the rank of major has been referred for investigation and he will be subjected to disciplinary action soon for keeping an Egyptian man in custody for 48 hours without justification, reports Al-Jarida daily.

The major also raided the house of the Egyptian without permission in cooperation with a number of detectives in the same police station. This came after another officer checked the number of detainees in the cell and found an unregistered expatriate on the list of detainees.

When asked about the reason for his detention, the Egyptian said a warrant of arrest was issued against him for civil felony and his belongings and identification documents are in the custody of the head of the police station.

The source added that the officer informed the director of the security department in the governorate who decided immediately to transfer the Egyptian to the Sentences Enforcement Department. Investigations revealed the Egyptian is wanted by law for failure to pay alimony to his exwife. The head of the police station knows the ex-wife who guided him to the house of her exhusband. The police station head then raided the house of the Egyptian and arrested him without getting permission from the Public Prosecution
