Major traffic crackdown nets 1,082 motorists

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: A comprehensive traffic campaign in all areas of the country resulted in issuing citations to 1,082 motorists and arrest of 16 others for committing serious traffic violations including carelessness, recklessness and driving without a licence, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, during the campaign traffic officers also impounded 14 vehicles and 25 motorcycles for various reasons. The campaign also included mobile groceries and heavy duty trucks.

The Directorate General of Public Relations and Security Media Department of the Interior Ministry said the traffic campaigns will be continuing in all governorates and in all areas of the country to implement and enforce the prestige of the law, to protect lives of people and prestige of the country.
