Locally hired – Management refused my resignation, not willing to give release

I joined the company as a local hire. The Shoon (Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor) released the visa almost 3 years ago. I resigned in July and will finish my 3 months notice on Oct 12. But until now the management doesn’t want to accept my resignation. They told me they will not give me a release. I also sent my resignation through the email and the company driver. Can I go to Shoon before Oct 12?

Answer: If you joined the company as a local hire, the company has to give you a release — if you desire so — after an year’s service. If it refuses to do so, just go to the Labor Office in your area and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor will sanction your release. You don’t have to wait until the end of the notice period and can approach the Labor Office immediately.
