Liquor factory busted; 15 ‘stuntmen’ held

KUWAIT CITY, June 27: Security operatives raided a liquor factory at a livestock pen in Wafra area operated by two Asians and seized 304 bottles of ready-made liquor, 42 barrels of the contraband, 7 cylinders and 5 distillers, says Al-Seyassah. A security source said Ahmadi Security Chief Brigadier Abdullah Safah received information about the activities of the suspects and formed a team of detectives to follow- up the case. The team raided the location after verifying the report and arrested the two Asians for running liquor factory. The suspects with the contraband were referred to concerned authorities. In the meantime, security campaigns will continue in all governorates under the guidance of Major General Ibrahim Al-Tarrah, Deputy Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Affairs.

4 kg shabu seized: Anti-narcotics men arrested a Kuwaiti citizen in Jahra area in possession of 4kg of shabu worth KD 120,000. The suspect admitted working for an inmate of the Central Prisons during interrogation, says Al-Seyassah. A security source said Drug Control General Department was notified about a citizen peddling in illicit drugs and a team of detectives was formed to arrest the suspect. In the meantime, a detective went undercover to seal a deal with the suspect to purchase 50 grams of the contraband for KD 1,400, and the suspect was nabbed upon delivery of the item. Security operatives went ahead to conduct a search in his house and recovered more drugs. He confessed working for a Bedoun inmate of the Central Prison. He was referred to drug prosecution.

15 ‘stuntmen’ held: A traffic campaign along the Second Ring Road, Damascus and Arabian Gulf streets resulted in the arrest of 15 reckless drivers who were performing car stunts. In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department revealed the campaign also led to the arrest of 120 individuals for violating traffic regulations and issuance of 450 citations. The department confirmed the continuation of such campaigns in various parts of the country to track down all those who violate the traffic regulations and to ensure road safety.
