Liquor, drugs seized in Ahmadi crackdown

KUWAIT CITY, July 24: Several security campaigns were launched in different parts of Ahmadi Governorate during which 88 individuals were arrested, 13 vehicles were seized and 81 traffic citations were issued, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

In a press statement, Public Relations and Security Media Department of Ministry of Interior explained that the individuals arrested during the campaigns included 30 who were wanted for nonpayment of debts, one person involved in a criminal case, seven who did not have any official identification documents, two in violation of the residency law, one against who an arrest order was issued, an Asian expatriate in possession of 91 liquor bottles, 34 Asians in possession of 41 liquor bottles and gambling tools and three in possession of drugs.

The officers seized two vehicles that were involved in judicial verdicts, nine that violated the traffic law and two vehicles that are involved in theft cases. The department affirmed that such security campaigns will continue all day in all areas of the country in order to confront those who do not follow the rules and laws of the country.

Public Relations and Security Media Department urged all Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to cooperate with securitymen and avoid offering shelter or protection to those who are wanted by law.
