Liquor, drug peddlers, thieves nabbed in massive crackdown

KUWAIT CITY, March 15: An Egyptian expatriate was arrested in Farwaniya area in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. According to security sources, Farwaniya securitymen were patrolling the area when they stopped the individual based on suspicions, checked him and found sachets of methamphetamine, and drugs paraphernalia including a lamp used for consuming meth.

Meanwhile, Farwaniya securitymen arrested two Asian expatriates in possession of 200 bottles of locally manufactured liquor in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area. Securitymen suspected the two expatriates who were standing by the road and holding large bags of water bottles.

They approached the two men and checked the bottles to discover they contained locally manufactured liquor. All three suspects were referred with the confiscated items to the Drugs Control General Department for necessary legal action.

Furthermore, a Kuwaiti citizen was arrested on Salmi Road for his involvement in a drug-related case. In addition, Jahra securitymen arrested a Syrian expatriate who is wanted by law for a theft case. They were patrolling Jahra area when they suspected a vehicle and ordered the driver to pull over. They checked his details and discovered he is a Syrian expatriate who is wanted by law for a theft case filed at Taima Police Station. He was arrested and referred to the concerned authorities for necessary legal action.
